Today we’re continuing our conversation about Adventure, and diving deeper into the second category of adventure, as defined by our mentor Bart Hansen.
KEY THOUGHTS
In Crucial Adventure, the stakes are higher. We must rely on wisdom and revelation from God.
A Crucial Adventure may start with a casual adventure when the stakes suddenly get higher. Other examples of Casual Adventure may include taking career risks or making life changes that may impact us and the people that we love.
Although we may not be looking for a new crucial adventure daily, the absence of crucial adventure may lead our hearts to go dormant.
We must keep our hearts open to the possibility of God leading us into Crucial Adventures, both through the awakening of our passions and desires, or by using life’s disruptions.
Crucial Adventure trains us to rely on God, to depend on him. To live a life of union with him.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
We encourage you to pause and take the time to reflect on each one of these questions individually and with your FIRETEAM.
What crucial adventures has God lead you through in your life? What was your experience like?
If fear was not an issue (if there was a guarantee of success), which crucial adventures would you like to embark into?
What adventure is God inviting you into a crucial adventure in this season?
PRAYER
Jesus, you have my yes. I ask that you would open the eyes of my heart to see the Crucial Adventures you’re inviting me into. I ask that you’d teach me to trust in your goodness, to trust in your heart for me. Teach me to follow you into the unknown territories you want to lead me. You have my yes.
